Puppets and Pints

Center for Puppetry Arts

Ages 21+

Puppets and Pints is an interactive adults-only Museum event that happens in our Worlds of Puppetry Museum. Each Puppets and Pints is unique and could include a gaming competition, scavenger hunt, music and dancing, or all of the above. The individual themes for each evening are designed to allow guests to immerse themselves into the Center’s Puppet Artifact collection - to interact, investigate and enjoy the Museum in a relaxed child-free environment.

Light snacks are served at each Puppets and Pints event and wine and beer are available for purchase during the event.

3/14 Puppets. Secrets, and Lies

5/9 Details Coming Soon

Vote Museum Puppets into Wizard School Houses, 7-9pm

It won’t be “Difficult. Very Difficult” to figure out where to be on July 13. Join us for an interactive museum game experience as we celebrate the boy wizard’s birthday. Help us sort our puppets in the Worlds of Puppetry Museum into the wizarding school’s magical groups. Will our exhibited puppets be labeled Badgers, Ravens, Snakes, or Lions? You will decide!

Each ticket holder will receive a selection of magical group badges. They will deposit those badges in each puppet’s voting envelope. The voting will take place from 7:00-8:00 pm. At 8:00 pm we’ll have a special sorting ceremony to reveal the puppets’ houses, as voted on by you, our guests.

After each person votes for each puppets’ house, they are free to enjoy our fine selection of beer pints (or wines) at our cash bar, explore the exhibitions further, listen to themed music, mingle with other guests, or enjoy the relaxed, child-free environment that can only be found at Center after hours events.

Costumes are encouraged! Please dress to represent your wizard school House, favorite wizard character, or similar, but no masks, please.

Museum Costume Party with a Twist, 6-9pm

Travel back in time during this costume party with a twist in the Center for Puppetry Arts’ Worlds of Puppetry Museum. Join us for our Puppet Time Warp Party! Costumes are encouraged at this kick-off to the Halloween season. Sport the fashion of the decade of your choice and join us for a time-traveling adventure. Inside our Worlds of Puppetry Museum that night you’ll find the puppets that are associated with your costume’s decade.

Want an example? If you wear a poodle skirt and cardigan sweater from the 1950s, you’d search to find our special one-night-only labels that relate to that decade. Our labels will tell you about which puppets were made or performed in the 1950’s and highlight why those puppets were important to life during that decade.

Once you’ve completed your time warp scavenger hunt, enjoy refreshments, music, and dancing in the Center’s atrium!

3/14 Puppets. Secrets, and Lies

Become a Spy Hunter and Find all of the “Bad Guys” Hiding in the Museum, 7-9pm

Go on a not-so-serious Museum spy mission to determine which of the puppets in the Worlds of Puppetry Museum are spies and which are the good guys. Our crack team of investigators have already interviewed the puppets and know where the spies are hiding. Don your special spy hunter badge and search as individuals or in teams to determine which puppets are spies and which are not. We’ll provide hints and clues along the way. The spy hunter that guesses the most correct answers will be the grand prize winner and take home a puppet prize pack.

Please note that these events take place in the Center’s Worlds of Puppetry Museum and are not live performances.
